After Clã, it’s now time for Deolinda, an upcoming portuguese band, to play at the Teatro Aveirense, in Aveiro. It’s happening October 17, and of course I already have front-line tickets.

…Her name is Deolinda and she is old enough to realize that life isnt as easy as it seems. Merrily unmarried, in love and out of love, born in Lisbon, she inhabits a ground floor apartment somewhere in the suburbs of the capital. She writes her own songs by peeking through the curtains of her window, drawing inspiration from the old gramophone records that once belonged to her grandmother and by the bizarre and strange life of her neighbours. She lives with 2 cats and a gold fish…
Their music is reminiscent of Fado, yet has a more merry and modern tone to it. Their lyrics are witty and catchy, and the whole thing just feels very playful and makes you feel like singing out loud (just don’t sing it out loud while listening to it on your iPod, or you’ll sound really stupid – believe me).
All in all, I couldn’t be more excited about the concert, since I see Deolinda as proof that Portuguese music is still out there and kicking! I leave you with a video (thank you Youtube) of their most popular song, Fado Toninho:
Pois é, Deolinda é do melhor no panorama musical português. Eu não tenho front-line tickets, mas vou estar lá para ver :) Ah e também não canto enquanto ouço no iPod, mas é música para não me sair do ouvido e andar sempre a cantarolá-la depois :D

triste notícia, fiquei hoje a saber que Deolinda já está esgotado e eu também gostava de ir ver ;( mas pronto.. boas escolhas musicais por aqui, hein! espero que seja um bom concerto e que aproveites muito.
